The Great Taiga's Weather.
The Climate of the Great Taiga.
The taiga biome is located in the northern most parts of the world. The taiga is in a large portion of Canada, and in Russia. Because of its location it has a colder climate. The biome is cold because of the chilled artic air, and the fact that during the winter months, the portion of the earth that the Taiga biome is located are titled away from the sun light, which causes less warmth to reach the biome. The winter is very cold and snow filled for about 7 months with an average precipitation of 40 cm per year. In the spring the snow melts fast, and it lasts for about the month of April.
Temperature.
The taiga varies in temperature throughout the year. During the winter it can get as cold as -65 degrees and in the summer it can get up to 86 degrees with some humidity.
What to pack.
If you are planning to visit the Taiga, you may want to go in the summer; if not be ready to pack heavy thermal clothes, and boots. If you are going in the summer you will need to bring light clothes, short sleeve shirts, and a few light jackets. I would not suggest to bring short pants, because there are so many mosquitoes that they will bite your legs until you go insane.
